UPDATE - Panocha Para La Natividad - UPDATE

27 Dec 2016 - Made  another batch.... every bit as good as the last one........ NOTE: Watch out with step No. 2, when you add the water to the golden brown sugar....

Note: I made a batch using the recipe above. Excellent panocha, it is just a bit thin so next time I will reduce the water by a couple of cups. The panocha is as good as I have ever tasted.

Hello. I am from New Mexico, but have been gone many years now. I remember my grandmother making Panocha and it was heaven! Where can I get Panocha flour?

Might be a "specialty" spot on the net. I get mine at Super Save Supermarket in Raton, NM. The Company that markets it is Fernandez Chile Company, Alamosa, Colorado 81101. It is labeled as "Panocha Flour. Good luck. In reality you could probably make your own flour, it is crushed sprouted wheat. Look for the info, am sure it is there.

Hi - Where did you purchase your panocha flour? I have been looking everywhere online. (I live in Florida so not a lot of New Mexico specialties around.)

Tina, I am not sure how you would go about finding some. Google is your best bet, "sprouted whole wheat flour".

I found it here (https://nuts.com/cookingbaking/flours/sprouted-whole-grain.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&scid=scplp07621-01&sc_intid=07621-01&gclid=CLqsnt3StdMCFZO2wAode2QLKg)

Good luck.

there is a store in Albuquerque, NM called Fruit Basket, that is where I found mine but they also sell it a Lowe's in ABQ too. I stocked up and bought 3 bags, wish I had gotten more.
